Do not give deposits over the phone or online to someone you never met in person. There are many rental scams. Be Careful about your money.
In some places they may ask you for a Key or FOB deposit. If you have a pet, they may ask you for a pet damage deposit.
Payments & Receipts
Always ask for a Receipt when you pay for your rent, especially if you pay cash This is the only way you have proof you paid your rent.
If possible, try to pay by e-transfer / e-mail money transfers. It's easy, safe and you have a record of payment. Ask your Bank Branch to show you how to pay by e-mail.
